Dr Pratyush Ranjan is a
postgraduate in Ophthalmology from Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College and
Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. He has been trained at Freeman Hospital,
Newcastle, United Kingdom, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New
Delhi and Sitapur Eye Hospital, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh.
He worked as Consultant Ophthalmologist & Medical Superintendent at National Society for the Prevention of Blindness - NSPB's Shaheed Bhagat Singh Eye Hospital for more than 2.5 years, under his leadership the hospital became the center which is doing highest number of cataract surgery in whole of western Uttar Pradesh (more than 15,000 cataract surgery annually).
Dr. Ranjan has experience of 55000+ Cataract ,Refractive 2500+, Glaucoma 2500+, 3000+ Retinal lasers & Injections and 1500+ Oculoplasty surgeries.
He has developed a new surgical
technique to perform cataract surgery; Ranjan Modified Manual Small Incision
Cataract Surgery (R-MSICS), Cartwheel Chop for Phacoemulsification Cataract
Surgery & combined glaucoma & cataract surgeries (The Infinity
Incision).
He is also the inventor of two
surgical instruments, the Ranjan MSICS Marker and Carter (The Cartwheel
Chopper).
Dr. Ranjan is prolific writer
& speaker. He has authored more than thirty-seven publications in peer
reviewed journals, one book & contributed four book chapters.
He often serves as an invited
guest speaker & trainer in various national & international
conferences. Till now he has mentored many young ophthalmologists in Cataract
& Glaucoma surgeries during their fellowship with him.
Currently, Dr. Ranjan is working
at ASG Eye Hospital, Varanasi as Supespecialist & Senior Consultant
Cataract, Refractive and Glaucoma.
He is Regional Chief Operating Officer of ASG Eye Hospital Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand zone and also Medical Director for ASG Superspeciality Eye Hospital, Varanasi.
He runs an NGO,The Asoka Foundation to promote Eye health and eradicate preventable in the society.
